1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide
Onboarding preferences – age range, display name, gender, weekly reading goal, preferred topics, and notification settings. This data is stored locally on your device and in your Firebase account to personalise your experience.
User-created content – custom facts, favourites, and collections you create within the App.
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
Device & usage data – device model, operating system version, app version, crash reports, and general usage analytics. This data is collected through Google Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics) to help us improve app stability and performance.
Subscription data – purchase tokens and subscription status are processed through Google Play Billing and Firebase Cloud Functions to verify entitlements. We do not store your payment card details.
1.3 Information We Do NOT Collect
We do not collect precise location data.
We do not collect contacts, photos, or files from your device.
We do not sell or share personal information with third-party advertisers.
2. How We Use Your Information
Personalise the fact feed, quiz content, and topic recommendations.
Process and verify premium subscriptions.
Send scheduled reminders and notifications (only when you opt in).
Analyse aggregated usage patterns to improve features and fix bugs.
Respond to support requests.

5. Children's Privacy
⚠️ Important Notice for Parents and Guardians
The App includes a Child Mode designed to filter topic categories that may not be suitable for younger audiences. However, Child Mode is provided as a convenience feature and is not a substitute for parental supervision.
Software may contain bugs, and content filtering may not be perfect at all times. Parents and guardians should actively supervise their child's use of the App and not rely solely on Child Mode to ensure age-appropriate content.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent. If you believe your child has provided personal data, please contact us so we can promptly delete it.
6. Data Security
We use industry-standard practices to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), Firebase Security Rules, and server-side subscription verification. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

Request correction or deletion of your data.
Opt out of analytics collection by disabling Firebase Analytics in your device settings.
